India has a problem of plenty!

Updated: Feb 21, 2023

Over the years with planning, hard work, and strong execution at all levels by the BCCI, India has been able to create a big pool of immensely talented players.

IPL has further helped players to showcase their talent to the world.

India now has such a strong pool of players that three different squads can comfortably be playing T20, ODI and TEST matches in three different venues at the same time.

The concern now is how to give opportunities to these players who are consistently performing at the domestic level and are performing well when given a chance to represent the country. One such example is Ishan Kishan who had to be benched after scoring a double ton vs Bangladesh as Rohit Sharma returned to fitness.

It is now becoming a very big challenge for the selectors and the entire management. The question that arises now is whether they have a plan to accommodate this size of pool of players and give them deserving chances at the highest level. How the management goes about it is going to be crucial in shaping the future of cricket in India.
