Spin-Bowling All-Rounders allowed Team India to have 9 Batsmen in the Playing XI

Border Gavaskar Playing XI

When it comes to the longest format of the game, India is arguably the best side in the world not only because we have been the best traveling team but also because of the massive size of the talent pool available. India has world-class spin bowling all-rounders and when playing at home these resources are very useful.

India played 3 spin bowling all-rounders in the first test match against Australia and this meant we were playing with 9 batsmen in the team which gives formidable depth in the batting and all this without compromising an inch on bowling.

One must remember all these three players can be selected for any team even without their battings skills. India No. 7-11 added 200 - which is superb as they turned an ordinary team score into a good score. The partnership between Jadeja and Axar ensured that India got to a very strong position. Not only they made runs they also kept Australian players on the field for those added over and hours.

Playing Axar, Ashwin and Jadeja together gives a lot of depth to the Indian Team.
