Team India's Spin Bowling All Rounders

Updated: Feb 22, 2023

When we say India has a problem of plenty it not only refers to the talented pool of batsmen and pacers. India now has 4 in-form spin bowling all-rounders - all of them are all format players.

Right-Arm Spinners

He has been in good touch and has made most of the opportunities given to him in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to a knee injury.

Axar has ticked all boxes while bowling & batting and has played crucial knocks at the dying stages.

Ravindra Jadeja

Coming back from injury Ravindra Jadeja played a Ranji match against Tamil Nadu and picked up 7 wickets in the second innings against Tamil Nadu. With this performance, he has rested all the arguments regarding his fitness and form. Ravindra Jadeja is the best fielder, an experienced lower middle-order batsman, and a very good left-arm spinner. I don't think the management can or should look beyond him when he is in form. He is the kind of player that can change the momentum of the game with his brilliance on the field. He has often proven to be a dependable lower-middle batsman and has made very useful contributions with the bat and is always on target with the bowl. He is the best all-rounder not only in India but in the world. His return to Team India before the Border Gavaskar Trophy is very exciting.

Washington Sundar left ARM SPINNER

Washington Sundar

He has been one of the most exciting talents we have seen in the past few years. He can bat, bowl, and is a gun fielder. What is more exciting is his temperament at such an early stage of his career. The way he carried himself with the bat and bowl in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia was exemplary for every youngster out there. He is an all-format player and has proved himself whenever the opportunity has been presented.

Ravichandran Ashwin Indian Cricket Team Spinner

Ravichandran Ashwin

R. Ashwin is India's most experienced and best spinner in the longest format. He is the first-choice spinner in the longest format and he has been dominating the opposition for over a decade now. He has also proven to be a very useful lower-order batsman. His career's best performance came in Sydney vs Australia in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy where he alongside Hanuma Vihari batted for almost 40 overs to save the test. Other than this he has performed with the bat on several occasions and has come to Team India's rescue.

Team India is very lucky to have two world-class all-rounders - Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. They add so much depth to both teams' bowling and batting. One of the reasons we have the world's best test side is because of the balance these two bring to the team.
